He was convicted on charges of Abuse of office for arbitrarily demolishing the building belonging to Ms. Oliver Matama. He was sentenced to a fine of UGX 3,000,000 or imprisonment for 3 years in lieu. He was further ordered to compensate Ms Oliver Matama in respect of the demolished building.

She was sentenced as follows Count I Causing Financial Loss she was sentenced to a fine of UGX 2,000,000 or two years’ imprisonment in lieu Count II Abuse of office she was sentenced to a fine of UGX 1,000,000 or one year’s imprisonment in lieu She was ordered to refund UGX 5,581,24 to the state. She was further ordered not to hold a public office for 10 years. The sentences were to run concurrently.
