Florence Nattu, Principal Human Resource Officer, Kayunga District was charged with Causing Financial Loss and Abuse of office. Judgment was delivered on 31st January 2022. Ms Nattu maintained two ghost teachers on the payroll resulting in the payment of UGX 12,551,670 to the ghosts. She was sentenced as follows Count I Causing Financial Loss she was sentenced to a fine of UGX 2,000,000 or two years’ imprisonment in lieu Count II Abuse of office she was sentenced to a fine of UGX 1,000,000 or one year’s imprisonment in lieu She was ordered to refund UGX 5,581,24 to the state. She was further ordered not to hold a public office for 10 years. The sentences were to run concurrently.
