Second phase of ig-oda commences

The implementation of the Inspectorate of Government Organisational Development Assessment is in the second phase with the training of members of staff who are eligible to apply for the role of Manager.

While addressing the members, the Deputy IGG, Ms Mariam Wangadya informed them that restructuring was part and parcel of business in any organisation as it removes bottlenecks of performance. She noted that the success of an organisation depends on the people therefore placing people in the right place and identifying the right competence was important for the growth of any institution.

She said the assessment for the role of director was concluded successfully and the IG Appointments Board and Management was committed and determined to conclude the process successfully while ensuring transparency, fairness and timely feedback as well as ensuring the process is thorough and that they are determined to get the best out of it.

The Deputy IGG appreciated the Secretary to the Inspectorate of Government, Mrs Rose Kafeero for ensuring that the process was smooth and wished the members success.

She guided that in conducting the exercise, it is important to keep in mind the organisation’s purpose. The process will help to address the concerns of His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni on the performance of the institution, by matching the performance and the job specification.

The Secretary to the Inspectorate of Government thanked the members for attending the training and requested them to be attentive and understand what was required of them to have successful applications as well as assessment. She reiterated the commitment of management to the whole exercise.
