The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has honoured former Minister of State for Ethics and Integrity, Rev. Fr. Simon Lokodo.
On behalf of the IG, Deputy IGG, Ms. Mariam Wangadya, thanked Rev. Fr. Lokodo for his tremendous efforts in the fight against corruption and immorality, and for founding a formidable alliance of fighters against corruption and other financial crimes known as the Inter Agency Forum.
She hailed him for his tireless efforts in finally constituting the Leadership Code Tribunal, 25 years after the promulgation of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and his contribution to the amendment of the Leadership Code Act, which has given the IG “ample teeth to bite non-compliant leaders and public officers.”
View PictureFor his part, Rev. Fr. Lokodo thanked the IG for initiating the IG Online Declaration System, which has made the declaration process so easy and the IG Forensic Lab that has upped the game in the anti-corruption fight.
He also mentioned the IG’s implementation of the Transparency Accountability and Anti-Corruption (TAAC) component in NUSAF 2 and 3, which saved Government a lot of money.
Present were the Secretary to IG, Mrs Rose N. Kafeero, the Director Leadership Code, Ms Annet Twine, the Manager Strategic Partnerships and Public Relations, Hajat Munira and other senior members of staff.
