Mrs. Rose N. Kafeero is a Member of the Appointments Board. She is also the Secretary to Inspectorate of Government

 

Directorate of Special Investigations

The Directorate of Special Investigations is headed by Mr. Polly Muhairwe. The Directorate is responsible for investigating corruption in Central Government with focus on high profile cases involving UGX 500,000,000 and above, and high profile personalities.

 

Directorate of Legal Affairs

The Directorate of Legal Affairs is headed by Ms. Sarah Birungi Kalibbala who is responsible for litigation and prosecution of cases in courts of law in behalf of the Inspectorate of Government. The Directorate is also responsible for managing and coordinating asset recovery as a result of prosecuted cases.

 

Directorate of Research, Education and Advocacy

The Directorate is headed by Mr. James Onying Penywii, who is responsible for stimulating public awareness about the values of Constitutionalism and the activities of the Inspectorate of Government through research, education and advocacy, workshops/seminars, radio and TV programmes, articles in the print media and other means the Inspectorate considers appropriate. The Directorate utilises research and collection of evidence based on successful implementation of interventions to drive evidence based advocacy approaches.

 

Directorate of Leadership Code

The Directorate is headed by Mr. Joram Magezi who is responsible for ensuring that the principles and values of integrity, transparency and accountability among leaders in public institutions as specified in the Leadership Code Act are adhered to by ensuring that the Leaders declare their income, assets and liabilities using the IG Online Declaration System. The Directorate also carries out systemic investigation of Leaders' declarations, investigates cases of impropriety by Leaders and sensitises the public on the Leadership Code of Conduct.

 

Directorate of Anti-Corruption

The Directorate is headed by Mr. Lugolobi Robert. The Directorate is responsible for combating corruption in Local Governments of Uganda through: Detection of corruption; Investigation of corruption cases and Arresting suspects. There are currently sixteen regional offices across the country. These are established in Arua, Fort Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Jinja, Kabale, Kampala, Lira, Masaka, Mbale, Mbarara, Moroto, Moyo, Mukono, Soroti and Tororo.

 

Directorate of Ombudsman Affairs

The Directorate is headed by Mr. Stephen Okiror, who is responsible for maintaining rule of law and good governance in public office, through investigation of administrative practices of public officers, conducting systems studies in Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Governments to identify long-term solutions that will ensure good governance and rule of law.

 

Directorate of Project Risk, Monitoring and Control

The Directorate is headed by Mrs. Annet Twine. The Directorate is responsible for supporting the oversight function of projects implemented by Government of Uganda to ensure there is transparency and accountability, value for money and that the projects are effectively and efficiently implemented.

 

Manager Shared Services

Mr. Bukenya Robert is the Manager Shared Services. He is responsible for management and delivery of shared services across the entire institution. These include Administration & Logistics, Procurement, Regional Support, Registry.

 

Information & Internal Inspection Division

The Division is headed by Mr. Stephen Kasirye Kyagaba and is responsible for carrying out internal inspections of the staff of the Inspectorate of Government and other government Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure efficiency, transparency and accountability. The Division is also responsible for vetting newly recruited staff.

 

Strategic Partnerships and Public Relations Division

The Division is headed by Ms Munira Ali and is responsible for positioning and communicating the IG's achievements, managing national and international strategic partnerships and the institution's brand.
