The Former Head Teacher of Kisubba Primary School, Bundibugyo District, Eliphaz Mugenyi, was charged by the Inspectorate of Government for Causing financial Loss of UGX 16,855,296 and Abuse of Office. He appeared at the Anti-Corruption Court and pleaded not guilty.

Mugenyi is believed to have misappropriated UGX 16,855,296 out of UGX 87,000,000 which the school received from Ministry of Education and Sports meant for construction of a two-classroom block, two 5 stance VIP latrines and procurement of 40 three seater desks.

Mugenyi appeared before His Worship Albert Asiimwe and was granted interim bail because his sureties were not substantial. He was asked to deposit his original National Identity Card.

Cyrus Mawano is leading the prosecution. The investigation was conducted by the IG’s Fort Portal Regional Office.
