The ex-wife of a top State Attorney has petitioned the Inspectorate of Government (IG) to investigate alleged corruption tendencies by her former spouse for allegedly messing up government cases to his benefit.

Elisha Bafirawala, the principal State Attorney in the Attorney General’s Chambers, is the official on the spotlight.

The petitioner only identified as Margaret, alleges that as far back as 2007, Mr Bafirawala has been engaging in corrupt practices such as accepting bribes from various parties in cases that involve the Attorney General as a party.

When contacted, the IGG, Ms Irene Mulyagonja, acknowledged receipt of the complaint against Mr Bafirawala.
