Igg orders sacking of senior staff over forgery

The Inspector General of Government (IGG) has recommended the dismissal of Bugembe town council accounts assistant, Jafar Bogere, over questionable academic papers used in securing the job.

It’s alleged that Bogere lacked the requisite academic qualifications to occupy the office of accounts assistant where he presented the academic papers of his younger brother, Kafude Bakali to the district service commission (DSC).

In a letter addressed to the Jinja CAO and signed by Deputy IGG, Mariam Wangadya, indicates that Bogere confessed to having forged academic papers which he used to get the job.

In the same vein, the IGG has written to the Kamuli CAO to delete the district senior accounts assistant, Alex Baleese, over impersonation and forgery of academic documents.

The IGG says the above are just a tip of the iceberg of the more than 10,000 scandals in the 10 districts of Busoga, ranging from bribery and abuse of office to theft and embezzlement of public funds currently under probe.
