The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with 31 civil society organisations (CSOs) in Acholi, Lango and West Nile regions.

This is meant to implement citizen engagement under Northern Uganda Social Action Fund phase three (NUSAF3).

The MOU was signed at Bomah Hotel in Gulu. The CSOs will meet administrative expenses such as stationery, airtime, transport and salary of employees.

According to Munira Ali, the Head Public and International Relations at the Inspectorate of Government, CSOs will be contracted for six months after which contracts will be renewed.

The Deputy IGG, Mariam Wangadya, said 31 CSOs will identify the communities where they operate to train and provide the IG with information on corruption, so that they take it up.

James Penywii, the Director of Project Monitoring, said they want timely implementation of NUSAF3 so that the communities benefit and get quality delivery.
