Danish government boosts anti-graft fight

The Danish government has provided the Inspectorate of Government (IG) with sh750m in funding to enhance the corruption fight.

According to the IG, the funding provided though the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), will roll out a campaign for Transparency, Accountability and Anti-Corruption (TAAC) in western Uganda.

On Friday, the IG signed an MOU with four NGOs who will implement the initiative in Mbarara, Kiruhura, Isingiro, Ibanda and Ntungamo districts.

The Secretary to IG, Mrs Rose Kafeero, said while sh526m will go to NGOs to sensitise communities on their role in the corruption fight while the balance would go into project management.
